Early Morning Exerciser:
Grab your coffee and a bottle of water or two to go, and start your day with some good old-fashioned exercise to really get the blood pumping for a full day of fun. Take a jog past quaint Amish farms and pristine countryside, and pause to wave to the farmers in the fields who've already been hard at work for hours. If biking's your speed, hit the roads to watch the sun rise - don't forget your biking maps to scope out the best views along the way! You might also enjoy hiking one of our many trails or taking to the Susquehanna River for an early morning paddle. Rainy day? Strap on skates and get moving at an indoor ice rink!
Early Morning Explorer:
If you're looking to get a jump on the day by rising early and getting out to explore, Lancaster County's scenic countryside's definitely the place to do it! Hop in the car and follow one or two of our covered bridge tours for a look at tucked-away communities just aching to be discovered, or stroll the streets of some of our quaint towns & villages and stop in for hot coffee and a chat at a corner café. Discover amazing views and experiences as you simply get lost first thing on our quiet country roads. It's an experience like no other! And, if you'd like a little help exploring, take a tour - via bus, horse and buggy or even hot air balloon!
Early Morning Bargain Shopper:
Stock up on your shopping guides, and be sure to peruse them before going to bed, because when you hit the roads in the morning, you want to be ready for the best bargains! Bring your flashlight and visit Adamstown, where thousands of antiques dealers invite you to check out their early morning deals as they unload for the day's sales, or sip steaming coffee as you browse through thousands of indoor and outdoor antiques stands featuring all kinds of treasures of the past. Be first in line (with that prime parking spot) when our designer outlet stores and unique local shops unlock their doors for the day, or stroll through farmers' markets for edible souvenirs - be sure to arrive early for the best selections!
Early Morning Grazer:
There's nothing quite like devouring a Pennsylvania Dutch sticky bun still toasty warm from the oven, and that's just the start of all of the fresh goodies you can find if you arrive at Lancaster County's farmers' markets bright and early. Local bakers will offer all kinds of fresh just-baked goodies for that morning energy, and that'll give you the boost you need to browse through the many stands for a glimpse of countless samplings to be had. Visit several markets or pick your own produce from brimming farm fields. Or, start your day with a full belly by visiting a local bakery or Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant - it'll give you plenty of food to last you all day long!
Early Morning Surprise-Lover:
There's no end to the new experiences you can discover when you wake up in Lancaster County. At a working farm B&B, you may need to wake up and rush right out to the barn to see a calf born right before your eyes, or your morning task may be to make an early visit to the henhouse to gather eggs for this morning's breakfast. If you're looking for a little more pampering, there's nothing quite like an early morning spa visit, where you can get a massage or facial as you watch the sun rise.
