Tucked away in the charming village of Intercourse, PA in the very center of Lancaster County's Pennsylvania Dutch Country, we offer our guests two options. Our vacation home can accommodate eight people. The cottage can accommodate six people. You may rent them separately or together! It will be your "home away from home." Your hosts are John and Ruthie Stoltzfus.
Start a new family tradition with us.
We provide two cozy, warm and clean homes with hand-painted murals on the walls.
The vacation home offers a fully equipped kitchen, large dining room, large living room with cable TV with a DVD and VHS player, two bedrooms (both with a queen and a single bed), rollaway beds and a porta-crib . A full bath, a sewing room with an antique quilt in a 97 year old frame and a flag-stone porch to sit and watch the buggies go by.
The Amish Cottage (Dawdi-Haus) is a great room with a refrigerator, microwave, sitting area with a table and chairs, sofa bed, cable TV with a DVD and VHS player, two queen beds, a full bath and a wonderful porch with a hand-made Amish swing that is perfect for relaxing and watching the buggies go by. The Amish are very committed to their family and when the older parents retire, they move into smaller quarters. These quarters are called the Dawdi-Haus (Dah-Dee Hahs), or the grandparent's house.
Both facilities are air conditioned and provide telephones with free local calls. Continental breakfast items are supplied in both homes.
Restaurants and major attractions are nearby. Ask us about an Amish family visit. Children are welcomed. No smoking or pets, please. We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and US Traveler's Checks. Reserve your vacation home or cottage early so we can accommodate your needs. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
This unique town of Intercourse boasts a tradtional heritage supported by the conservative Amish who have chosen this beautiful countryside as their home. Their way of life is a demonstration to all that life is simple, yet sweet.
"Cum und blavet aviel." (Come and stay a while.)
We are open year 'round.
